Research

My research at the department deals with the topic field busses. Being involved in the development of the TTP (Time-Triggered Protocol), my work focuses on TTP/A, the member of the TTP family intended for use in the field bus area (automotive control, production, tool machines). The conceptualization and specification of TTP/A is the topic of my PhD as well.

I'm also engaged with the local management of the 'INFOTEC' research project "Time-Triggered Sensor Bus". There are three university departments, each with a partner from industry involved in the project. This project aims at developing a communication architecture for dependable automation systems, based on TTP. The goal of the protocol being developed is the connection of the process instrumentation (sensors/actuators) to dependable automation systems.
