Abstract

For the fault tolerance assessment of computers a combination of analytical modelling and experimental fault injection is employed. This paper focuses on the problems associated with the fault injection experiments and points out their high similarity to those commonly found in a classical measurement process. This is done by analysing the flow of a fault injection experiment from the point of view of a measurement, starting with the problem definition and ending with the presentation of the results.
