2010 : TTP/A on JOP

Abstract
This bachelor thesis describes the implementation of the TTP/A protocol in Java running on JOP, a Java Optimized Processor. TTP/A was developed at the Vienna University of Technology. It is the fieldbus protocol of the Time Triggered Architecture and connects nodes providing hard real-time guarantees. The aim of this project is to connect JOP and the microcontroller board by running our TTP/A protocol on JOP and the original protocol on the microcontroller. The protocols are fully compatible, although they are programmed in different programming languages and run on different platforms. An application is implemented on JOP and the microcontroller using the TTP/A protocol to exchange the data between JOP and the microcontroller board. The application provides the possibility to control actuators using the inputs made by the user. Additionally, JOP sends the generated data to the console of the PC.
